Nowadays, it’s very important to learn how to distinguish legitimate home employment opportunities from not. Read some of the tips and guides below to help you in your search for your home based job.
When you receive an offer or an advertisement through the mail, through your email or via a phone call, the very first thing to ask is how did they get your contact information? At the same time, you should remember where you left your contact numbers. Did you apply or post your resume or profile in a job site? If the answer is a bit fishy and looks like your information was sold from a third party vendor, then it is most likely a scam.
Go on to the next steps in verifying the company. The next thing to check is the job description. What are you going to do exactly? If the answer is vague, forget it. No one hires an employee whose job or role is not clear. If the employer was able to answer that, the next thing to ask is the company background. If the offer promises a high income, then it must be some big time company or at least it’s an established company that you can research. Ask if they have a website. Check their websites and see if there are contact numbers and office location. Verify the address. Can you find the company in Google Maps, Map Quest or other web directories? Are you near the place? Do you know someone who lives near the area? Maybe you can have it checked by a relative or friend.
Most home employment opportunities are freelance jobs that may not require interviews any longer. However, most companies will still require some samples of work. If you are provided a telecommute job similar to the usual 8 to 5 jobs, these are the home employment opportunities that need personal or at the least, a phone interview. If the company just hires you without any of these, then you should begin to doubt. Now, another thing to consider is if they promise you can earn hundreds or even thousands of dollars a day. Listen to yourself. This is too good to be true. And more often than not, your intuition is correct.
