Know the Pros and Cons of Home Employment
from:A lot of people are starting to see the benefits of home employment. Not only do you benefit from the flexible hours, but you also save money and enjoy the convenience of not having to travel to work. Indeed, home employment has a lot of advantages to it. Let’s go over them one by one.
Flexible Hours
For most home employment opportunities, companies allow you to work in your comfortable schedule as long as you complete the 8 hours a day. This means that you don’t have to get up as early as you used to. You don’t even have to wake up a little earlier to eat breakfast, take a shower, dress up, and drive to work. You can save that much time if you’re on home employment. Imagine, you wake up in the morning, turn on your computer and prepare your coffee as you wait for it to load. You can begin checking work e-mails while you eat a toast. It’s okay to be in your pajamas because you won’t be facing any clients or bosses. It’s just you, your computer, and your phone.
More Savings
Another helpful benefit you get with home employment is the savings you make. First, you don’t have transportation expenses. You don’t have to commute or gas up just to go to work. At the same time, less maintenance for your car. Second, no need to buy office clothes. You can probably keep two to three office suits for conventions or general assembly. Otherwise, you can wear anything as you work at home everyday. Third, save on meals. If you usually buy your lunch and snacks, home employment lets you keep your money for such expenses. It’s cheaper to cook your meals. So if you’re just at home, then you’ll save more on lunches and snacks. Fourth, most companies would allow you to reimburse phone and internet bills.
Convenience
With home employment, you’ll experience a more relaxed and laid back type of work. Even if it’s the same stressful job you do, you’ll feel less stressed when you’re at work. First, you won’t have to worry about being late. No driving or commuting means no traffic jams. Second, you’re not as tired as you used to be. You feel more at home because you are at home. You can work on the couch, sip drinks, or even listen to loud music. Third, you will have less stress. No worrying about how people look at you or how you do your work. No office gossip and no getting called to the boss’s office.
There are also some disadvantages. With home employment, some people tend to mix up their lives at home with work. You shouldn’t get too lax or comfortable during your work hours, or else you might end up having to work overtime for the time you wasted. Plus, if you’re a people person, you might end up getting lonely working alone at home.
